Get your MP3s underwater

Wednesday June 16, 2004
Proving you really can take your tunes anywhere, digital audio player maker iRiver and Diver Entertainment Systems have begun taking preorders for their H20 Audio DV series. Based upon the design of iRiver's iFP-300T flash players, the H20 Audio DV reportedly can be taken to depths of 200 feet due to a special waterproof housing which encases the player. Sound is heard via earbuds which clip on to the diving mask and send the music through the water to your waiting ears.

The players, which run from $349.95 to $649.95, have up to 512MB of flash memory storage and support MP3 and WMA music files. There's also an FM tuner and voice recorder, so you can record the sounds of your screams as you are chased by a great white.

[NOTE: If you have Flash, you can watch a demo of a diver trying out the H20 Audio DV. It's pretty funny to watch the guy trying to boogie.]
