Sony straps on a new sports digital audio player

Sony is hoping to pick up fitness users who want digital audio players with their new S2 Sports Network Walkman. Priced around $180 and available at the end of the month, Sony's newest digital audio player is a 256MB flash memory model which reportedly has up to 70 hours of playback time on one AAA battery. It is housed in a white, water resistant case, about the "size of a pack of gum" and has an ergonomic design. It supports MP3, ATRAC3, WMA and WAV music formats, though the non-ATRAC3 formats must be converted first before transfer and playback.
Other features of the S2 Sports Network Walkman include a backlit LCD display with four modes, a group/folder navigation function and included h.ear clip-on headphones and an armband style carry case.
