iRock brand gets new Beamit wireless FM transmitters

Monday November 1, 2004
First International Digital's iRock line of portable digital audio related products got two new additions to their Beamit wireless FM transmitters with the roll outs of the Beamit 450FM (first picture on right) and the Beamit 440FM (second picture on right). Both devices hook up to portable audio devices like MP3 players and CD players through the headphone jack and broadcast the audio over a nearby radio's FM signal.

The 450FM ($39.99) is powered by 1 AAA battery (making it portable) or an included 12-volt DC auto adaptor. It, according to FID, offers 100 channel (i.e. most of the channels on your FM radio) digital tuning and a signal distortion of less than 0.2 percent.

The 440FM ($29.95) plugs directly into a car's cigarette lighter. It offers 12 channels to broadcast to and offers 90 degree swivel action for optional viewing of the device's LCD.

Both devices are available now.
