Nintendo DS launch few days away

One of the biggest product launches of the season is happening Sunday when the Nintendo DS handheld gaming systems officially go on sale. For those who don't know, the Nintendo DS is the venerable video game company's new portable gaming system.

Here are a few things to know about what it will be able to do, which I pulled from an earlier entry I did:

• Dual-screened, with one screen allowing for touch input using a stylus.
• Voice recognition and multiplayer wireless features.
• Software embedded in the system hardware, which is called PictoChat, will allow DS owners to write messages with an on-screen keyboard or the stylus and send them wirelessly to other DS users nearby.
• 100 developers developing DS specific titles, including well known franchises and original games. DS will also support all existing Game Boy Advance titles.
