Sharper Image shows off iPod speakers which make environmental noises as well

Leave it to gadget company Sharper Image to come up with this one. The Sound Soother Fifty Aluminum-Cone MP3 Speaker System combines an iPod speaker accessory with a device which can play 50 different environmental noises, ranging from tropics and heartbeat to rainy night and songbirds. The idea behind the noises, according to Sharper Image, is to drown out other noises with ones which are peaceful and relaxing.
As far as compatability with iPods (and other digital audio players) goes, the Sound Soother Fifty connects to these devices through a cable. It will reportedly provide a rich, full range sound in high quality stereo. The Sound Soother Fifty is available now for $199.95
