Wednesday December 15, 2004
The new DMC 8270 is looking to be all things to all people and perhaps steal some of the iPod's thunder in the process. This low cost 20 GB hard drive digital audio player, announced yesterday, has among its many features MP3, WMA and OGG music support, built in FM tuner and recorder, voice recording and direct in-line audio encoding. On the non music side, it can function as a personal information manager with Outlook synchronization and doubles as a USB hard drive.
The DMC 8270, which reportedly can run up to 15 hours on its rechargeable battery, is priced at $249 and available now.
