Disney unveils themed portable DVD players

Disney is bringing to market this month some themed portable DVD players they think your kids will love. Two different sizes - a 3.5-inch handheld style for personal use or a larger 7-inch screen with an open-and-close clamshell lid for personal or family use - will be available in stores and through Disney's online store shortly for $119.99 and $199.99 respectively.

The 3.5-inch model will come in one of five themes including Mickey, Disney Princess and Power Rangers, while the 7-inch has a red lid that features Mickey's mouse silhouette. All of the players will play DVDs and audio CDs as well as being capable of showing JPEG images off of discs. They also have built-in speakers, rechargeable batteries and two headphone jacks.

"Kids have made it clear that they want products that are fun, cool, creatively designed and highly functional," said Chris Heatherly, global VP of Disney Electronics. "The new Disney Personal DVD Player is a perfect example of this. Unlike similar players in the market that require the purchase of customized discs, the Disney Personal DVD Player supports an array of media formats, providing kids with a vast library of entertainment at their fingertips."
