Nyko's iTop relocates iPod controls to the top

Monday May 2, 2005
iPod accessory maker Nyko last week announced they had begun shipping their iTop Button Relocator for the iPod. Priced at $29.99, this add on is a lightweight adapter which attaches to the iPod and relocates standard controls such as play and volume from the face of the unit to the top. Each of the control buttons is textured so users can easily recognize them by touch.

“Nyko’s always on the lookout for ways to enhance the experience of digital entertainment,” said Susan Corben, director of marketing, Nyko Technologies. “With the iTop, iPod-lovers can access their music easily – whether they’re jogging, commuting, or just want to keep the iPod in a case.”

This device looks cool however the packaging says it works with any iPod so I decided to buy it for my 30gig iPod video. Well when I got home it wouldn’t plug into the top because it had an extra connector on top and there was nowhere for it to fit on my iPod. After checking their website they say it works with all 3G and 4G iPods. Clearly that wasn’t stated on the packaging. Piss poor description from another foreign company.
