New portable DVD players from Axion

Wednesday May 4, 2005
Consumer electronics maker Axion on Monday announced they were releasing two new portable DVD players. The AXN-6090, pictured at right, will be released in the next few weeks for $299, while the AXN-6053 is available now for $149.

Both players share many features in common. Besides allowing you to view DVDs and listen to audio CDs, they also have a credit card size remote, rechargeable batteries, wide screen (16:9 aspect ratio) support and a special built-in port (Axi-Port) that supports optional accessories like a TV tuner and gaming joystick pre-loaded with Sega games. The AXN-6090 features a 9-inch screen, while the AXN-6053 offers up a 5.3-inch viewing option.

"The unique features of our new widescreen slim DVD players nicely complement our extensive line of portables. Axi-port opens a new world of viewer options - enabling gaming, broadcast television, global positioning and more ... our new Axion portables do much more than just play DVDs!" said Afshin Behrouz, Axion director of sales.
