New Portable iPod Speaker Case from FID

Wednesday June 29, 2005
Here's an interesting new iPod accessory from First International Digital, makers of the irock wireless FM transmitters. This time around the product is not a transmitter though, but instead a carrying case with two built-in speakers called the MusiCase. It is priced at $19.99 and available now.

The 5.8" x 4.8" x 2.0" MusiCase is made of lightweight nylon material. Two mesh pockets inside are designed for the iPod or iPod Shuffle, though FID says other MP3 players can fit as well. Two small speakers inside the case, which plug into the player's headphone jack, are powered by a three-watt amplifer. Battery life off of two AA batteries is approximately 15 hours.

"For the first time, MusiCase combines two popular MP3 add-ons - the carrying case and portable speakers - into one essential MP3 accessory," said Randy Cavaiani, EVP at First International Digital. "It's the ideal way to enjoy music on the go without headphones or share your iPod library with friends."
