Belkin announces wireless remote and recording microphone iPod accessories
Computer equipment maker Belkin was busy last week at MacWorld Boston with a couple of new iPod accessory announcements. The two new products are the TuneCommand remote control and the TuneTalk audio recorder.
The TuneCommand is priced at $49.99 and should be available next month. It consists of two components: a receiver which plugs into your iPod and a remote which uses wireless technology to allow control of your player up to 150 feet away regardless of barriers such as walls. The TuneCommander, which works with later generation iPods, iPod photos and iPod minis, features eight basic control functions, including play/pause, next track, previous track, volume up and down, shuffle songs and repeat.
The TuneTalk audio recorder, priced at $29.99 and available by the end of this month, connects a small omni-directional microphone to your iPod. It has, among other features, a recording status LED, foam microphone cover and flexible neck design. All voice recordings are stored directly on the iPod's hard drive, which could potentially allow users the ability to store hundreds of hours of voice data.
