Podcast Searching: Interview with blinkx.tv Co-Founder Suranga Chandratillake

blinkx.tv is one of a growing number of companies diving into the fast growing trend of podcasts. This company, which operates a search engine that indexes text from online video and audio broadcasts through voice recognition technology, recently turned its sights on helping users find the best podcasts to fit their mood.
In the simplest sense, podcasts are online audio files which you download and place on your MP3 player to take on the go. They can be music or the spoken word and touch upon a wide range of topics. Many are produced by folks in front of their computers, but a growing number are also being created by mainstream media companies. Podcasts can be listened to one at a time or subscribed to, a process which uses special software to fetch the latest installment in a specific series as it is posted online.
