SK Products' CarClip secures iPod in your car

Wednesday November 2, 2005
A company by the name of SKProducts yesterday announced they had created an iPod accessory designed to provide a proper car holder for the different models of this popular MP3 player line. The first of these, the CarClip for the iPod mini, is available now for $24.95.

The CarClip for the iPod mini, SKProducts said, puts the mini at eye level when hung from a vehicle’s rear view mirror. It is engineered from a single piece of laser cut, hand molded clear acrylic plastic designed to fit each different iPod model. The CarClip is constructed in such a way that it does not interfere with FM transmitter or audio cassette adapter iPod accessories. It is also accompanied by a colorful set of rubber banded motion buffers which slip through the CarClip and around the center knob of the rear view mirror to prevent swaying.

The CarClip, SKProducts added, also comes with other accessories to mount it in older vehicles or elsewhere in the car. CarClips for other models besides the mini will become available over the next month or so, with a nano version set to debut Nov. 8, followed by the fifth generation video and third generation iPods on Dec. 1.
