Cowon starts American sales of A2 portable video player
Cowon, a maker of portable digital entertainment products, last week announced they brought their new portable video player to American shores. The Cowon A2 is now available in white for $449.
The A2, Cowon said, has a four inch wide TFT-LCD screen. It offers up to 10 hours of video (DivX, XviD, WMV) and 18 hours of audio (MP3, OGG, WMA, WAV) playback via its rechargeable battery. It can also display text files and image files (JPG, PNG, BMP). All of the various file types are stored on the A2’s 30GB hard drive and are transferred from a PC or Mac via a USB 2.0 high speed connection.
Other features of the A2 include the ability to record or watch television programs and other types of video through an AV in/output jack, sound enhancement technology for a better listening experience, a built-in FM receiver/recorder, voice recording through a microphone, direct audio recording through a line-in input jack, direct transfer of photos to the A2’s hard drive from a compatible digital camera without need for a computer, a digital clock and customizable on-screen logos and wallpapers.
