Belkin debuts new 5G, nano iPod cases

Monday November 14, 2005
iPod accessory maker Belkin on Thursday unveiled a host of new protective cases for the new video iPod, also known as the 5G (fifth generation) iPod, and the iPod nano. These cases range in price and should all be available in retail come December.

For the 5G iPod, Belkin announced four new cases. The Kickstand Case (pictured at right - $29.99) integrates a stand display so one can watch a video handsfree. It is available in black or white and has a protective plastic screen cover. Also with this type of cover is the Classic Case ($19.99), which also has a built-in belt clip. Rounding out the 5G case line are rotating-belt clip designed Holster Case ($19.99) and the front flap flip designed Flip Case ($29.99).

The new nano cases announced are the Classic Case ($24.99) and Holster Case ($24.99). The former has a durable protective screen cover and a built-in belt clip, while the latter also features a screen cover, but its belt clip rotates instead.
