Apple rolls out new iPod accessories

Thursday January 12, 2006
Apple had no earth shaking iPod announcements at MacWorld this year, choosing instead to focus on their new Intel based computers. Several new iPod related accessories came up however and these are:
  • iPod Radio Remote ($49 – immediately available): This device combines a wired remote control with FM radio capabilities for the nano and fifth generation iPod (the one with video). It allows users to skip tracks and adjust the volume of their iPod without touching the player itself and also turns the iPod into a portable FM receiver, displaying song and station information on screen.
  • iPod AV Connection Kit ($99 – immediately available): This new kit consists of an iPod Universal Dock, Apple Remote, iPod AV Cable, iPod Dock Connector to USB 2.0 Cable and an iPod USB Power Adapter. It is geared towards charging the iPod while at the same time connecting it to a television for watching photo slideshows or video or a stereo system for listening to music.
  • iPod nano In-Ear Lanyard Headphones ( $49 – immediately available): These headphones combine the iPod nano lanyard headphones with an in-ear design. They include three different sized caps to help provide a more comfortable and secure fit.
