DLO TransDock micro offers iPods new auto charge/FM play option

Wednesday March 1, 2006
Digital Lifestyle Outfitters (DLO), a maker of iPod accessories, today announced a new transmitter/charger accessory designed to work with all current iPods. The new DLO TransDock micro is priced at $69.99 and available now.

The DLO TransDock micro, said DLO, broadcasts the iPod’s music over a car radio while at the same time charging the player’s battery. Users plug the TransDock micro into an auto power outlet, connect the dock’s cable to an iPod and select a FM station to play the MP3 player’s music on.

Features of the DLO TransDock micro include a LCD display, four programmable radio station presets, a 48-inch docking cable, the ability to snap an iPod shuffle directly into the dock when the cable is removed, auxiliary audio input for use with other audio devices so their sounds can be transmitted to a FM station, auxiliary audio output for use with car auxiliary inputs or cassette adapters and the ability to charge USB devices such as certain cell phones or portable gaming systems.

“The TransDock micro is a great little device that takes care of all your iPod’s needs in the car,” said Andrew Green, VP of Marketing at DLO, in a statement. “It sounds as good as fully installed solutions, yet it’s removable and transportable like the snap-on toy transmitters out there. With the removable bonus iPod docking cable, the TransDock micro delivers tremendous value as well. It’s already $10 less than its competitors, and with Aux input and output, infinitely more flexible.”
