Cingular Wireless today debuted a new on-demand video streaming service which brings together a large selection of popular television shows, sports, news, weather, entertainment and premium programming. Dubbed Cingular Video, this service is available to users of high-speed 3G capable Cingular mobile phones.

Cingular Video, the company said, will offer items such as trailers of ABC television programs such as Desperate Housewives, video clips from Cartoon Network shows like The Powerpuff Girls, video from CNN, clips of popular programming from the Disney Channel, sports related video from ESPN, video clips from FOX News, popular shows from HBO, music videos from Music Choice, local and regional weather updates from The Weather Channel and reviews from the TV Guide Channel.

Prices on this programming will vary, with premium content from HBO costing extra while other items such as local weather forecasts will come as part of a basic services package. Some items will also be available a la carte.
