The iPod '50s Style: SpeckTone Retro

Wednesday May 31, 2006
Speck Products, known for their iPod and cellular phone accessories, is rolling out a new retro looking tabletop stereo speaker system which works with dockable iPods. The new SpeckTone Retro will be available in mid-June for $149.95.

The SpeckTone Retro, said Speck Products, is the first in a line of “fashion and performance focused” speaker systems for the iPod. The Retro has clean lines and a nostalgic elegance of a 1950s style via its all wood, sonically tuned speaker cabinet finished with one of three high-gloss lacquered “piano finishes” (green/brown, black-on-black, white and silver).

Technical features of the SpeckTone Retro include a 28 watt output, 4” subwoofer, two 3” drivers, an integrated iPod dock (supports iPod with video, iPod nano, 4G iPods (color and b&w), and iPod mini) and a 1/8” AUX jack on the back which supports other portable audio devices.
