SanDisk Adds Sansa Docking Station for Their MP3 Players

Wednesday September 13, 2006
SanDisk, to supplement recent announcements regarding their Sansa MP3 player line, added to their product array the Sansa Base Station. This device, which does double duty as a charging station and audio pass through to an external audio source, is priced at $69.99 and should be available by October.

The SanDisk Sansa Base Station, said the company, is designed to work with their e200 series of MP3 players, as well as the new c200 series. The device allows users to dock a player, connect to and play audio content through an external entertainment system, operate the player with an included remote control (which also docks to the Base Station behind the player), automatically charge the internal batteries of the players and transfer data between the player and a PC. In addition to the remote, it also comes with a power adapter, USB 2.0 cable, RCA audio cable and mechanical adapters for each of the three Sansa models.
