Sony Offers Up New High-Fidelity Headphones

Thursday October 19, 2006
Sony is planning to roll out new headphones which offer users an 800 kHz frequency response for better high quality sound. The Sony Altus headphones (MDR-D777LP) are priced at $149.99 and should be available in November.

The Sony Altus headphones, as described by Sony, are extremely lightweight and offer 40mm high-definition driver units in the brushed aluminum earcups to deliver high-fidelity audio. The Altus also has an ambient sound-in switch to let one better hear outside noises when it is opened. Other features include an over-the-ear design, ear and head cushioning, a single-sided cord and a foldable design which can be stored in an accompanying drawstring pouch.
