Is $500 too much for the Apple iPhone?
Friday February 23, 2007
How much would you be willing to pay for the upcoming Apple iPhone, considered by some to be the next must have portable gadget? If this survey is to be believed, not that many. An online market research firm, surveying 379 people, said that "among the 26 percent of respondents who said they're likely to buy an iPhone, only 1 percent said they'd pay $500 for it." Many of this same population said they'd pay between $200 to $299 for Apple's upcoming iPod/cell phone hybrid. What would you be willing to pay? $500? $299? Talk it up via the comments link at the bottom of this story. [via iLounge]

I would not pay $500 for this phone I would pay between 150.00 and 200.00 Thank You
Sounds like a good phone, can you tell me and or send more info on it please.
I am planning on buying the iPhone. I don’t have a cell phone, I do have an iPod, but I can give it away. I really want the calendar that I can sync with my computer. I would pay $500.
I think they key factor people are missing here is that people who already have an iPod, Zune or any other media player for that matter will be far less likely to pay $500 for a phone just because it does some of the same things.

This post really got me to thinking. Do I really need an Apple iPhone? Is there another (less expensive) product that would be just as good for me?
Here’s what I want, in order of importance:
1. A calendar to sync to Outlook
2. Email and Web browsing
3. Cell Phone
4. iPod - I don’t really need this, but would use it if it were there
5. Video - I would rarely use this
I would also love to have GPS, but I haven’t heard that they include this.
With these in mind, is there a better product than the new iPhone?
