Soundstream shows off touchscreen media player
When one considers the sheer number of portable media players on the market today, it is hard to distinguish oneself from the pack. Soundstream, a relatively unknown company in this space, is hoping to gain some traction with its recently revealed X-ITE MP28 portable media player.
The Soundstream X-ITE MP28, I will say upfront, will probably be a very hard player to find at retail. That being said, it does seem to have some features of note. It sports a rather nice looking 2.8-inch display which is touch sensitive, meaning you'll be controlling most of the functions by touching the screen. It also support a wide variety of audio, video and digital image media formats, which is important for those of you who know what OGG or APE mean.
Other features of the MP28 include a FM radio, voice recording, 2 GB or 4 GB of memory for storing media, a mini SD card slot for expanded memory and included ear phones. No specific word on pricing or availability.
