Follow me on:

SanDisk, one of the more popular non-iPod MP3 player manufacturers, announced yesterday a new player which holds no internal memory but instead plays music off of special pre-loaded memory cards. It is called the Sansa slotMusic Player and you'll find it pricing around $20 for a plain model or $35 for one which is music artist branded and comes with a pre-loaded music card.

The SanDisk Sansa slotMusic Player works with a special type of microSD memory card called slotMusic. It is essentially memory cards pre-loaded with DRM-free MP3 music from"nearly 40 of the biggest names in music from all four major music labels: EMI Music, SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT, Universal Music Group, and Warner Music Group. Artists on slotMusic cards include Robin Thicke, Katy Perry and Coldplay."

The players will also work with more standard microSD memory cards loaded with your own music. The weight of these players is a little over two ounces and dimensions of 2.75 W x 1.4375 H x 1.4375 D. They come with a customizable black shell, earphones and battery. You can read more details on the Sansa slotMusic Players at the SanDisk Web site.
