Panasonic Debuts Longer Lasting AA/AAA Batteries

Wednesday October 22, 2008
One of the biggest problems facing users of portable electronics is battery life. Devices which require AA and AAA batteries regularly need those batteries replaced because of draining them during usage. Panasonic believes it has a new battery which will help lengthen the time between battery replacement – the Evolta.

Panasonic's Evolta battery, according to the consumer electronics company, "is recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s 'longest lasting AA alkaline battery cell' in more devices." It it said to have been specifically designed to work with a variety of electronics devices which fit into the portable electronics spectrum, including portable radios and MP3 players.

Panasonic claims in device testing that the Evolta battery, compared to its current Alkaline Plus batteries, takes 272 digital camera shots (compared to 209), plays up to 14 hours more FM radio and lets a remote control car travel up to 8.7 miles farther. You can get more details on these batteries, including technical aspects, at the Evolta Web site.
