Microsoft Drops Zune Prices for Holiday Shoppers

Microsoft's been busying gearing up its Zune portable media player for the holidays. First there's the variety of new artistic body designs, followed by a new software update. The next move? Lowering prices, which the company did today.

Microsoft said price drops would range between $10 and $30, depending upon the product. The Zune 4GB now prices around $100, the Zune 8GB around $140 and the Zune 16GB around $180. Accessories with prices dropped include the Car Pack (around $70), Home/AV Pack (around $60) and the Dock Pack (around $40). You can get more details on these items at the Zune Web site.
