Powerplus Verio MP3 Player Juices via a Crank Handle

Monday December 29, 2008
Imagine a MP3 player which is powered by winding it up to charge the battery. That is the idea behind the Powerplus Verio Wind-up MP3 Player, priced around $60.

The Powerplus Verio, with 1GB of storage for MP3/WMA/OGG/ASF audio files, gets 15-20 minutes of audio playback for every one minute its handle is turned. This isn't the prettiest looking MP3 player on the block though, so one has to take the good with the bad on this – the trade off of dull looks is never needing to worry about replacing the batteries.

Other features of the Verio include a built-in flashlight, mobile phone charger, a USB port, a rugged design and full audio playback time of up to four hours on a full charge. More details about this wind-up MP3 player can be found at this product sales page. [via Chip Chick]
