CES 2009: SanDisk Sansa slotRadio
SanDisk has a rather interesting new Sansa MP3 player it is showcasing at the Consumer Electronics Show. It is called the slotRadio and it prices at around $100.
The SanDisk Sansa slotRadio, available later this year, holds no internal memory, nor does it look like any songs can be added to it from a user's personal digital music library. The slotRadio, rather, makes use of special 1,000 song slotRadio cards which are preloaded. These cards hold songs drawn from the Billboard charts and are and professionally arranged into a variety of genre-themed playlists.
The slotRadio comes bundled with one such card, featuring a mix of playlists tied to rock, contemporary, country, and others organized into themes such as “chillout,” “workout” and more. Other cards can be purchased for around $40 each. Other features of the player itself include a die-cast aluminum design, 1.5-inch OLED screen, FM radio and integrated belt clip. More details on the slotRadio can be found at its Web site.
