The idea of a portable DVD player which include a built-in iPod dock is a no-brainer in a market where consumers own both DVDs and iPods. The advantage of this is you can watch videos stored on your iPod, such as those you purchase and download through iTunes, on a much larger screen. When you run out or tire of them, you can then switch to those DVDs you brought. The fact that you can also view digital images on this player's nine-inch screen makes it that much more appealing as well.

Shure SE115

Shure SE115Shure
Shure has always put out quality, in-ear headphones. They are usually pretty expensive, though, so it is nice to see the company introducing a lower cost member to the product family. What particularly sticks out about these earphones is the reputable sound-isolating technology used in previous models to much success. The SE115 also gets some kudos for offering up a personalization fitting kit, which makes for a more comfortable listening experience for a wider range of people.

Samsung P3

The Samsung P3 portable media player gets a mention in this list not just for its gorgeous user interface, but also the fact it provides special physical sensations to let a user know a command has been executed. It is also super thin and supports Bluetooth, meaning you should be able to wirelessly play audio stored on it with compatible speakers.

Panasonic DMP-B15

The world's first portable Blu-ray player, while seeming like a novelty, is actually a great step forward in the evolution of players which support this next generation optical disc format. The DMP-B15, which should offer a really great viewing experience on its 8.9-inch display, will also support playback of regular DVDs and stream online video. This makes it a very versatile video entertainment device.

Sennheiser HD 800

These high end headphones from Sennhesier definitely aren't for those on a budget. If you have the cash though, you'll find yourself ending up with what should be a high quality personal listening experience. Sennhesier headphones regularly get good marks in reviews and the HD 800 will most likely get the same. The special audio technology and looks of these headphones alone offer a high desire factor.

Eviant Card Televisions

It has been quite awhile since portable TVs got a design upgrade - let alone be made ready for the digital television conversion coming up. It is nice then to see a company like Eviant releasing some new portable TVs which look not only stylish but will also be ready out of the box to let you view digital television channels broadcast over the airwaves. It is easy to see taking one of these on a RV road trip.

Denon AH-D7000

These Denon headphones, like the Sennheiser one previously mentioned in this list, definitely push the price tag. You get for the $1,000 cost on this model though some earcups crafted partially out of Mahogany wood. This not only makes the AH-D7000 look unique, but it also provides for a more enhanced listening experience given the way the wood conducts the audio. Extra cushy leather earpads should lend to hours of comfortable listening.

Sony NWZ-X1000

The upcoming NWZ-X1000 looks to be one of Sony's best portable media players to date. It plays back videos and displays digital images on an OLED display, which should provide for a very crystal clear viewing experience. The touch panel operation and wireless Internet function add to the coolness of this player, providing a nice alternative to the iPod touch.

Samsung MBP200 Pico Projector

The MB200 from Samsung makes this list because of the fact it can be either a portable media player or a mobile projector, depending upon your needs. It can project to a variety of surfaces, up to a 50-inch screen, which makes it great for sharing movies or PDFs with others. It also has touchpad controls, creating a smooth front side appearance. A very useful hybrid style device.

GiiNii Movit Mini

The new Movit Mini is an interesting take on a new type of portable electronics: portable Internet tablets. It will let you do a lot through a wireless Internet hotspot, including watching streaming video. The fact you can also make Internet phone calls from it around the world gives it extra usefulness. It is a definite new viewpoint on one of the possible futures of portable devices.
