Klipsch is now back with a new model in its Image headphones line up. This one is called the X5 and, while slightly larger than previous models, is said to offer the same great sound and lightweight body shape. These earphones will be available in late June 2008 for around $250.
Features:
The Klipsch X5 earphones, according to their maker, are only about 2mm in diameter bigger than previous models. This model, like others, uses translucent ear gels which are designed to properly fit inside an ear canal. This reportedly will "reduce ear fatigue and provide an amazing seal for excellent noise isolation along with increased bass response." Five different sized earl gels are provided to accommodate different ear canal sizes.
Klipsch says the X5 uses a balanced full-range armature driver with a tuned bass-reflex system. This provides what the company feels is better audio highs and deeper lows. These earphones different from the previous model in that the earlier one focused more on bass.
Other notable features of the X5 include electroplated aluminum housings, special flexible "tails" to reduce cable stress, 50-inch-long vinyl cables and a stylish design. Included accessories are a carrying pouch, an airplane adaptor, the above-mentioned ear gels and an ear gel cleaning tool.
