The Philips line up of GoGear portable media players has churned out over the years a steady stream of quality devices known for their sleek looks and easy to use interfaces. These forward thinking products also tend to come with new audio enhancements from Philips, itself a major player in the larger consumer electronics market.

The upcoming Philips GoGear Opus digital audio/video player is certainly no exception to this rule of potential innovation. The company has tossed a number of useful functions into this device, including options for music from an online subscription service, wireless audio transmission, easy song navigation and a colorful display.

Features:

The GoGear Opus offers compatibility with several of the most common audio file formats, including MP3, WMA and AAC. It also supports video file playback of the MPEG-4 and WMV9 varieties, as well as letting you enjoy your digital JPEG images in a slideshow format.

Also available as entertainment options on the Opus are a built-in digital FM radio function with 20 presets and the online Rhapsody music subscription service. This monthly pay for service lets you upload to your player, when it is connected a computer connected to the Internet, your choice of millions of audio tracks across a variety of different music genres.

These varying entertainment choices are backed by something Philips calls FullSound technology, said to bring CD quality listening to anything you are enjoying through the included quality headphones with noise isolation (it will also work with other headphones). Audio the Opus produces can also be sent wirelessly to compatible headphones and speakers through the integrated Bluetooth technology.

Other features of the GoGear Opus include a 2.8-inch LCD color display, varying scrolling speeds while browsing the music library, album art displaying, up to 30 hours of audio or six hours of video playback and recharge abilities by connecting through USB to a computer.
