Nextar T30 First Look

A company by the name of Nextar, already sporting a line of MP3 players available in a variety of retail locations, recently unveiled a new portable media player which is just half-an-inch thin and weighs around 3.7 ounces. While it won't necessarily give the iPod a run for its money, the Nextar T30 does offer a $100 price tag which makes it worth taking a look at.

The Nextar T30 provides some useful hardware build-ins for those wanting a variety of options. It sports a 3.5-inch LCD color display. This display is QVGA quality, offering a resolution of 320 x 240. Nextar says you can easily view the screen in most normal environments, even in bright sunshine.

Storage consists of 4GB of built-in memory, expandable via SD memory cards. As this is a portable media player and not just a MP3 one, the T30 is capable of supporting a variety of digital images, movies and music and is capable of displaying song information on-screen such as title, artist and lyrics.

The battery of the T30, which is rechargeable, offers up to eight hours of digital audio or four hours of digital video playback. This battery can be charged via either an included power adapter or by connecting the player to a USB cable attached to a host computer.

Other features of the T30 include a built-in FM tuner/recorder, voice recorder, e-book reader and side buttons. A variety of accessories are included, such as a USB cable, earbuds and carrying pouch.
