Features:
The Shure E500PTH Sound Isolating Earphones make use of three miniature speakers one tweeter and two woofers to produce what the company feels is a true hi-definition listening experience. This is in addition to integrated passive crossovers designed to keep high and low frequencies more distinct and noticeable as one listens.Besides the miniature speakers and integrated passive crossovers, the E500PTH earphones make use of an accessory called the Push-to-Hear (PTH) control to help one alternate between being engaged in their music listening experience and listening for outside noises. The PTH control is controlled by a switch which channels external sound through your earphones via a microphone as it lowers the volume of music at the same time.
Like other E Series earphones, the E500PTH is also designed to step up in the sound isolation department, keeping out a reported 30-37 decibels or some 90 percent of outside audio distractions via a customizable seal. This seal makes use a variety of included soft, flexible sleeves which contour to the inside of the ear to provide the best fit possible.
Design & Accessories:
The ergonomic E500PTH, which weighs around one ounce, has what Shure describes as a low-profile, industrial design, with black chrome casing and an over-the-ear design to help control cable clutter. Part of this design includes a detachable cable solution which lets one make use of either a nine inch or three foot cable to adjust the length of their 18 inch earphones from the device being listened to.The E500PTH earphones ship with an accessories kit, which includes the sound isolating sleeves, detachable modular cables, PTH accessory, volume attenuator for airplane use, 1/4 to 1/8 adapter and zippered nylon carrying case.
