One of the latest Philips GoGear portable audio players is the Spark (SA2940/02), a 4GB flash memory player which holds up to 900 digital audio tracks. These digital audio tracks are of the MP3 and WMA formats, which are the most common types.
Spark's Audio & Display Side
The GoGear Spark has a built-in equalizer with pre-set modes to optimize music properly depending upon the genre. The music audio is further enhanced by something called FullSound, which is said to make listening to digital audio more comparable to enjoying CD quality sound.
Set into the Spark is a 1.46-inch OLED screen which is backlit and lets you view information about the music playing. This screen can also be used to view JPEG digital photos, which can be stored in the memory of the player.
Other Spark Features
Music and photos are loaded onto the Spark via dragging and dropping into folders on the player when it is connected via USB 2.0 to a Windows computer. Music can be chosen in player through a folder view and one can scroll through hundreds of songs very quickly by pressing and holding the scroll navigation.
Other features of the GoGear Spark include recording one's voice into the built-in microphone, storage of non-media files such as Word documents, digital photo slideshows, a headphone jack and a rechargeable battery life of up to 27 hours.
