Following along the radio stations theme, Audiofeast has grouped their downloadable content both by category and content provider to create 350 or so channels. Being like a radio, these audio programs are updated on a frequent basis. For example, the Discovery Channels Science and Nature channel is updated once a week, while the NPR Hourly Update is updated every hour. They are also typically short in nature, which may be a benefit to those who want to take a lot of content from different providers to go.
Using Serenade Audio, Audiofeasts software, users browse the different channels. When one or more choices are selected, they are added to a list which tells the user what they are subscribed to. Each channel is updated automatically as needed, depending upon the frequency of its programming schedule. In order to keep your content fresh, Audiofeast recommends keeping your computer on and connected to the Internet as much as possible.
Like Audible, audio programming is easily transferred from software to player. While archiving what you download is not currently an option, Audiofeast is considering adding this ability in the future.
Price wise, Audiofeast offers one option currently: $49.95 for one year. For this, you get access to all of the channels of the service. This means you could download the latest content from every provider if you so pleased. Those without an MP3 player can get in on the act as well, as Audiofeast has a bundled player/one year subscription deal.
