Guide Review - Creative MuVo TX FM
Split design aside, the size is nice. At 1.5 ounces, it feels very light. The size, combined with a well designed armband case and the players flash memory (no moving parts) makes this a great on the go device.
Use of the MuVo is simple. After hooking the player to a USB port, you either drag and drop music or use the included Creative MediaSource organizer software. USB 2.0 transfer times were nice, running about 1.5MB per second. The controls, consisting of a three function scroll wheel, play/pause button and two volume buttons, were easy to figure out without needing the abbreviated manual. The monochrome LCD is easy to read.
Playback of music, in this case MP3 files at 192 Kbps, was great. The players 90dB signal to noise ratio kept the music clean, even at high volumes. A five band equalizer provided an even more customizable listening experience. Battery time was nice, hitting around 15 hours on one AAA. One drag was the included earbuds they were average and slightly uncomfortable.
Other features include voice recording, with good sound quality as a WAV file, and the FM functions. As a tuner, the player has great pickup. As a recorder, the FM music sounded flat and not worth listening to.
