UPDATE!!! On March 2, Apple officially unveiled the iPad 2. The official launch date in the U.S. is March 11. Since Apple isn't taking online pre-orders (orders open up online on the day of launch) you'll have to line up during the 5 p.m. March 11 launch at brick-and-mortar Apple stores to get one ASAP. Cost for the U.S. model remains the same as the original iPad pricing (depending on internal memory and wireless model). Below is a link to the various retail outlets that sell iPads in the U.S. Note that some are still displaying the first-generation iPad so make sure you don't buy the wrong one by mistake.

PAST UPDATES
Apple's first generation iPad continues to be a smashing success as the device has now sold 3 million units in its first 80 days.
Richard Doherty, an analyst at Envisioneering Group who initially forecasted the device to sell between 5 million to 8 million units in its first year, told the LA Times that he now expects the device to eclipse that mark.
Meanwhile, Steve Jobs announced in late June that Apple is planning to launch the tablet in nine more countries within a month.
Besides the U.S., the iPad is currently available in Canada, the U.K., Japan, Australia, France, Germany and Italy.
