The Gmini 402 is an upgrade to the popular Gmini 400, which was released last year. It features a 20GB hard drive which can store up to 80 hours of video, 200,000 photos or 10,000 songs for on the go fun. The portable video player comes in a sleek metallic design, has a 2.2 color LCD screen, measures 4.17 x 2.37 x 0.69 and weighs 5.64 ounces.
Music, Video and Photos
The Gmini 402 can interact with an array of different types of audio, video and photo type media files. For audio, it can play MP3, WAV, WMA and also protected WMA files, the last meaning it is compatible with Microsoft PlaysForSure friendly online music services like Napster to Go and MSN Music which offer monthly subscription plans to allow you to download unlimited amounts of copyrighted WMA music files.Supported video formats include MPEG-4 at near DVD playback quality, AVI and WMV, including copy protected WMV movie files such as those found at online video store CinemaNow. Photo file types supported include JPEG and BMP.
All of these files can be transferred to the Gmini 402 from a PC or Mac via a high speed USB 2.0 connection. Digital photos can be transferred directly from a camera via the same connection method as well.

Other features of the Archos Gmini 402 include the auto syncing of media files when Microsoft Windows Media Player 10 is connected to the player through a PC, voice recording, audio line in recording, video and photo output display onto a monitor or television, storage of other types of files besides media, games and a rechargeable battery which provides up to 10 hours of music or 4 hours of video per charge.Accessories included with the Gmini 402 are earphones, USB cable, USB Host adaptor, AC power charger, Quick Start Guide and a protective pouch.
